The ambitious Steve Biko coach Abdoulie Bojang has set his sight firmly on guiding the Bakau giant killers to their first-ever GFA Division One League title.
Speaking after his side’s goalless draw with West Coast Region giant Brikama United in the week one fixtures of the Gambia Football Association (GFA) first division league at the Brikama Box bar Mini-stadium on Saturday, Bojang said his “team is ready to fight for the league title” this year after years of first division competition without a trophy.
Lie, as he is widely known said: “Biko are well prepared, determined and hungry to fight for the league title and they will certainly perform to expectations as the league progresses.”
He expressed optimism that his boys are capable of lifting this year’s GFA premier league title saying: “My boys are in a superb form.”
Steve Biko, a community football club of Bakau founded in 1979, are known for playing an attractive football in the country’s top-tier league.
Biko, who have adopted the culture of exporting the country’s finest talents, have never tasted silverware since their 2001 FA cup glory.
But they look set to end the club’s lack of success in the GFA league.
