Saint Therese's Upper Basic School are the 2010 champions of the Daimler tournament, organised by OlymAfrica Centre, in collaboration with Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation after defeating Latrikunda Upper Basic School (LK) by a goal to nil in the final, at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium on Saturday 10th April 2010.
Lamin Singhateh scored Saint Thereses Upper Basic School only goal of the game.
In the Lower Basic category, OlymAfrica Centre, Serrekunda East U-13 Academy defeated Bundung Lower Basic School also one nil to be crowned the champions of the 5th Edition of the Daimler tournament of the lower basic category.
Buba Sanyang scored the only goal of the game for OlymAfrica Centre, Serrekunda East.
OlymAfrica Centre, Serrekunda East U-13 Academy, winners of the lower basic category received a trophy, three footballs and a certificate, the runners-up Bundung Lower Basic School collected three footballs and a certificate.
The two semi-finalists also went home with three footballs and a certificate, while all the other schools that participated in the tournament received each two footballs and a certificate.
Saint Thereses Upper Basic School, the champions of this year’s Daimler tournament received a trophy, three footballs and a certificate.
Latrikunda Upper Basic School also received three footballs and a certificate, the semi-finalists received each three footballs and a certificate, while all the other Upper Basic Schools received each two footballs and a certificate for taking part in the competition.
This year's one day Daimler tournament brought together nine lower basic schools, nine upper basic schools and two Academies from Serrekunda East.
The schools that took part in the lower basic category are Saint Thereses Lower Basic School, Bundung Lower Basic School, Bakoteh Annex Lower Basic School, Tallinding Proper Lower Basic School, Latrikunda Lower Basic School, Saint Charles Lwanga Lower Basic School, Serrekunda Lower Basic School, Abuko Lower Basic School, New Jeshwang Lower Basic School and OlymAfrica Center, Serrekunda East U-13 Academy.
The schools that took part in the Upper Basic Category are Bakau Upper Basic School, Greater Banjul Upper Basic School, Saint Thereses Upper Basic School, Charles Jaw Memorial Basic School, Latrikunda Sabiji Upper Basic School, Latrikunda Upper Basic School (LK), Abuko Upper Basic School, Bakoteh Upper Basic School, Tallinding Upper Basic School and OlymAfrica Centre, Serrekunda East U-15 Academy.
