News monitored over the Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS) last evening stated that President Yahya Jammeh has revoked the nomination of Mrs Elizabeth Renner as member of the National Assembly, with effect from 3rd November 2010.
This development, according to the radio news report, is in exercise of the powers vested in him under the provisions of section 231 (1) of the Constitution of the
Elected as speaker of the National Assembly on 17th June 2009, Elizabeth Renner, a retired high school principal, was a nominated MP prior to her election as speaker of the Gambian legislature by her peers.
