Serrekunda East will battle it out with Bakau Zonal Team in the final of the ongoing Baby Muhammed Yahya Jammeh's Perpetual Zonal Championship, after thrashing neighbour Serrekunda West in the second semi-final game, played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium last Sunday.
The keenly contested game was witnessed by thousands of spectators from Serrekunda East and its surrounding areas, and both sides put up brilliant performances and lunched a series of assaults in each other's goal mouth, but could not break the deadlock thus the first half ended 0-0.
As action resumed in the second period of the game both teams re-organised themselves and mounted pressure on each other's defense line, but Serrekunda East who were more determined and hungry for a victory and striker Buba Jallow, alias Melez scored a brace for Serrekunda East in the 53rd and 55th minutes of the game, respectively from a long range and a header to seal the victory for Easterners.
