The false information and perjury case involving Saikou Gibba, recently continued at the Bundung Magistrates' Court, presided over by Magistrate Olajabutu Kayode.

The accused Saikou Gibba was a former state witness in D1.6m case involving the former NIA operatives: Babucarr Jallow and Demba Sowe.

When asked by his counsel, Assan Martin whether he gave evidence in D1.6m NIA case, he replied in the affirmative.

He told the court that he knows Demba Sowe but did not see any money with him

According to him, he later realised that the said document was written by Christopher Badjie and typed by one of the Tom Bright Secretaries by the name Fatou Sowe.

Mr. Gibba adduced that when he asked Fatou whether she is the one who had typed the said statement, she replied in the affirmative, adding that she did it under the instruction of Christopher Badjie.

Mr. Gibba went further to tell the court that, his signature was being forged by Christopher Badjie and appended on the said document.

He added that when DPP called for him to come and testify in favour of them, the first statement that was shown to him by the DPP was his statement he made at the NIA.

The case was adjourned to 18th November 2009.
