The third edition of the Sabach Sanjal inter-village
football tournament have reached its climax, with Kunjo facing Yallal Bah in
the final showdown at the Ngayen Sanjal football field on Sunday
The two teams already know what it means to be a champion, as Kunjo defeated Sabach Njien to win the tournament in 2011, while Yallal Bah is going to the finals as the reigning champions, following last year’s win against the Kani Kunda team in a game that took place at Ngayen.
Yallal Bah were highly rated as the best team of the tournament, but will have to prove that by winning the finals against Kunjo.
Kunjo surprised all the tournament followers after defeating Bambali in the semi-finals, held at the Njabo Kunda football field earlier.
Mod M Ceesay and Abdou Secka, committee members, both express their satisfaction with the way and manner the tournament has progressed. They commended the teams that competed, as well as the entire Sabach Sanjal community for their support and appreciation which resulted in the success of the competition.
Meanwhile, the National Assembly member for the area, Honourable Ousman Bah, has expressed his gratefulness to the committee and the people of Sabach Sanjal for making sure the tournament succeeded.
After this, there will be more development coming, as he is considering to stage a “Norran” football competition, Bah announced.
