Ron Mango has once again succeeded in berthing their place in the double finals of the ongoing Summer Championship in Bakau after edging out Mamakoto and Milan in the League and Knockout finals, respectively.
The side led a hard fought encounter and went home with a narrow one-nil win over new comers and in-form Milan in the Knockout semis, played at the Bakau-Mini-Stadium on Wednesday, thanks to striker Lamin Jallow's superb header when he took full advantage of a perfect cross by Centre back Sulayman Banda, three minutes into a decisive semi-final encounter.
The double finalists entertained Mamakoto to an impressive 3-1 win to progress to the final where they are expected to meet the winner between Vidar and Bantankoto that were fighting it out for a spot in the League Cup final at the time of filing this report yesterday.
They started the season with a defeat against last year's League champions, Linguere that suffered their worst performances in the annals of the club as part of the curtain-raiser which eventually paved way for the Nawettan competition, amidst speculations that they might find it difficult to manage a spot in the doubles as they did last season.
But the Bakau New Town giants have proven doubters wrong after confirming their place in another doubles for the second consecutive season.
Coach Alagie Drammeh, alias Platy who guided the team to a historic title following their resounding victory over Sea View in the Knockout final last year is hopeful of repeating the same success when they entertain either Bantankoto or Mantankoto and the Radio Boys Unique FM that is also chasing to win their first Nawettan title in nine years.
According to one of the coaching staff of Ron Mango, Pa Gassama himself a former Ron Mango goalkeeper, the secret behind the success of the Bakau New Town outfit is due to the financial support rendered by Ousman Jallow, a one time Ron Mango hit man who is currently making name for himself in the Danish Division One side Brondby and Sheriff Sanyang whose valuable contributions, Pa noted has contributed to the success of the club.
