Alagie Sarr, head coach of Real De Banjul FC, has said his team still has a chance of retaining the league despite failing five points behind current league leaders following their 1-nil defeat in the hands of the Gambia Armed Forces in the week-fourteen encounter of the GFA first division league game played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Saturday.
He stated that the league is still too young and that they are fully concentrating on it for now, adding that some of his players are on national duty.
He noted that the game against the Gambia Armed Forces was very tough and congratulated them for the victory but added that the pitch also contributed to their defeat as his players are more used to playing on artificial turfs.
Alagie Sey, head coach of the Gambia Armed Forces FC, said the game was well contested but at the end his side emerged victorious.
He added that Real De Banjul FC is a big team and should not be ruled out for the title contention, but added that coming into the game he motivated his players by telling them that if Real win it means they are a better side.
However, he said, his players were able to make it by beating Real De Banjul.
