Peter Weisferet, the first prosecution witness, recently testified before the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, presided over by Magistrate Tabally in an alleged 'attempt to commit felony' involving one Ousman Jallow.

In his testimony, PW1 said he lives at Batikuku and that he is an engineer, adding that he recognised the accused person.

According to the witness, on the day of the incident, he went to Sunu Kerr at Kanifing and left his car unlocked.

"I left my bag on the seat in my vehicle,”" he explained.

He testified that when he returned to his car and wanted to start his engine, he was alerted by someone who directed him to the rear wheel of his car.

"When I turned around, I found out that the door was already opened," he said.

PW1 further said that he then saw someone trying to take his bag, adducing that when the accused saw him, he ran away and hid behind the next vehicle.

The accused was apprehended by the crowd, he said, adding he then took the matter to the Kanifing Police Station, where he made a statement to that effect.
