Threatening violence lands man in court

A man was recently arraigned before Magistrate Babucarr Secka of the Brikama Magistrates' Court, charged with threatening violence.

Lamin Kassama pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of D5,000 with a Gambian surety.

According to the charge sheet, on 24 March 2011, at Farato Village, Kombo North, West Coast Region, the accused, Lamin Kassama, lifted a pick axe and threatened to kill one Fatou Bojang.

The case was then adjourned till 19 April 2011.

In a similar development, one Bakary Sanyang of Brikama Nyambia was also arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates' Court, charged with threatening violence.

The particulars of offence stated that on 29 March 2011, at Brikama Nyambia, West Coast Region, the accused, Bakary Sanyang, threatened to kill one Suteh Sanyang with an iron bar.

He pleaded not guilty and was subsequently granted bail of D5,000 with a Gambian surety.

The case was at that juncture adjourned till 19 April 2011.
