The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) recently identified 23 Gambian foreign-based players invited to represent the Gambia in its first game of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa on 13 June 2015.
The list consists of some new names expected to represent the Gambia for the first time. Among them are Swansea City star Modou Secka Barrow, Middleborough’s Mustapha Carayol, Sam Jammeh, Macoumba Kandji, Pa Amat Dibba and others who will be making their debut for the Gambia against South Africa.
The players are expected to start arriving in the country by June 1st while those whose leagues will not conclude before June 9 are set to join the rest of the players in Uganda where they will camp and have a team game with the Ugandan national team before traveling to South Africa.
