The Sct. George's Guilds of Denmark The Gambia Project, in collaboration with the Gambia Borden Powel International Scout\Guide Fellowship and the Gambia Scout Association, yesterday presented two forty-foot containers loaded with health materials, school material and second hand cloths to 19 health centres, schools and other institutions across the country.
The goods were handed over at a presentation ceremony held at the Gambia Scout Association head office in Bakoteh.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms Aja Kassa Kanteh-Sanneh, President of The Gambia Scout Association, said she was pleased to witness the donation, adding: "This is not the first of its kind to receive such a donation."
Madam Kanteh-Sanneh also prayed for the donors to have good health and long life.
Ousman Samega-Janneh, secretary general of the Gambia Borden Powel International Scout\Guide Fellowship, urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the donated materials.
Mr Janneh also thanked ministries and institutions that made it possible for them to receive the materials on time.
Ousman Jatta, International Scout Commissioner, for his part, said they were proud to be always given the positive side, adding: This is not something new in The Gambia Scout Association.
Mr Jatta also congratulated the President of the Republic of The Gambia for his recently concluded treatment programme and finally pledged their support to the President.
The ceremony was chaired by Pa Omar Bojang, Project Coordinator and Scout Commissioner.
