One Lamin Jabang recently appeared before Magistrate's J.A. Effim of the Brikama Magistrates' Court for assaulting a Police Officer in due execution of her duties. According to the particulars of offence, on 1st November, 2009, at Brikama, the accused Lamin Jabang unlawfully assaulted I.O. Mai Sonko by giving her a slap on the face while in due execution of her duties.
When the charge was read and interpreted to him in the local language he claimed to understand, he pleaded guilty.
The case was adjourned for the Police Prosecutor to narrate the facts of the case.
Meanwhile, the accused was remanded in custody until the next adjourned date.
