Gambian International Ousman Jallow may not have his contract renewed by Brondby, the Danish club announced on Monday.
Ousman Jallow and his teammates Mikkel Bischoff, Bruno Fressato Cardoso, Pierre Kanstrup and Beran Camili are expected to leave the club at the end of June when their contracts with the club expire.
Jallow, who completed his 21 league appearances last weekend for Brondby without celebrating a single goal this season, is sure of not playing at Brondby next season.
The decision by the club, which has successfully secured 3rd place in the Danish league and a spot for the Europa league next season, has been linked to logistical issues.
Brondby sports director Ole Bjur said on the club’s website Brondby.com: “It’s a natural attrition as the players’ contracts expire, and when we want to continue to trim our squad, then it is a logical decision. Meanwhile, the players need more playing time than we can offer them. “
Bjur added in his statement that the club is constantly working to optimize the squad and it is also in this context that they considered the rationale for the move.
“The players have each contributed positively to Brondby IF; we thank them and wish them every success in the future,” he concluded.
