No official reason was given for the removal of Mr Badjie.
The portfolio of the Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure has been transferred to the Office of the President.
Mr Badjie was appointed to serve as minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure on 25 August 2014.
Before returning to the Cabinet, Badjie was Gambia’s ambassador to France, where he was posted after serving as ambassador to Morocco.
Badjie was once minister of the Interior in Jammeh’s cabinet.
