Olympafrica register 1st win in National Volleyball League

Olympafrica Centre/Serrekunda East Male Volleyball team on Wednesday 16th June 2010 defeated the Gambia Armed Forces Male Volleyball team by 3 sets to 2 in the opening game of the Gambia Volleyball Association (GVBA) League, at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium Volleyball Lawn.

Alagie Babou Joof, the Head Coach of Olympafrica Centre/Serrekunda East, speaking shortly after the game, expressed satisfaction for winning his opening game of the league.

Head coaches Joof also stated that despite winning the game, most of his players are still very young and lack much experience.

He said that they would prepare well for their next game as part of efforts to win the league at the end.

He also warned other teams to be prepared and know that they are coming for victory in other games.

Joof, also commended the Gambia Volleyball Association for organising a volleyball league this year, adding that this will boost their morals to take part in international competitions.

Also speaking, Sambou Bojang, the Head Coach of the Gambia Armed Forces Volleyball team said his players were over confident during the games which led to their defeat in the hands of Olympafrica Centre/Serrekunda East Volleyball team.

Meanwhile, Gamtel/Gamcel Female Volleyball Team will take on Olympafrica Centre/Serrekunda East Female Volleyball Team today, Friday 18th June 2010, at the Gambia Senior Secondary School Volleyball Lawn in Banjul.
