Nyaffulen FC beat ANYLJ FC at their replayed Super Cup final held last Sunday 23rd October 2012 at the Brufut lower basic school, leading them by 2-0.
Nyaffulen FC took the lead at the 38th minute of the game, with a goal headed into the net by Modou Lamin Jatta from a brilliant cross.
Lamin Ceesay added the second leading goal at the 1st minute of added time, thereby sealing the victory.
The winner was given a price of D 4, 500 with a giant trophy, while the runner- up went home with D3, 500.
It would be recalled that the two teams played the final last month, ending 2-2 resulting in the rescheduling of the game.
Meanwhile, the disciplinary committee of Gunjur Youth and Sports Development Association (GYSDA) has fined Oxford United winger Foday Joof D250, for assaulting a committee member in their quarter final clash against Nyokoyorr FC at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field recently.
Foday was found guilty of assaulting a committee member, and the disciplinary committee of Gunjur Youth and Sports Development Association (GYSAD) decided to fine him for this action.
GYSDA had also warned Nyokoyorr FC players and their fans for their behaviour against GYSDA during their quarter final game against Oxford United FC recently.
GYSDA is appealing to all teams taking part in this year’s Gunjur Nawettan to maintain discipline and tolerance during the Nawettan in order to avoid fines and suspension.
GYSDA promised a free and fair Nawettan, and wish all participating teams in this year’s Gunjur Nawettan a good season with quality and entertaining football.
