Following the suspension of members of the above committee and subsequent investigation into their activities, the Interim Committee of the West Coast Region Sports Committee had reported to the National Sports Council, recommending for council to reinstate the WCR Sports Committee, according to a NSC statement.
It added that the Interim Committee had observed that there were no major problems with the Regional Sports Committee, and as such recommended its reinstatement.
Acting on the recommendations, the National Sports Council, therefore, reinstate the regional sports body with effect from 9th July 2015.
It would be recalled that the said regional sports body was dissolved as a result of preliminary findings revealing that the body was divided on the BYSA issue, based on sentiments resulting in it’s not being able to resolve the matter, among other things.
While urging the reinstated body to remain steadfast and committed to its responsibilities, the National Sports Council took the opportunity to thank the general public and stakeholders for their patience and commitment to the development of sports.
