Mr Mendy said that since the intervention of the President in sponsoring the event it is the provincial schools that are winning, which shows the willingness of the provincial school towards sport.

He then seized the opportunity to thank the President of The Gambia and his family members from the bottom of his heart on behalf of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education for his generosity and good heart for the Gambian youth in improving their skills, particularly in sport.

He added that the President is always willing to help the young people of The Gambia in improving their livelihood to become more productive in the society.

He then used the opportunity to call on school parents and teachers to be more committed and to encourage their children to take part in the event, which is a national activity, and full of surprises by the President of The Gambia.
