Nine Man Bakau United defeated Wallidan FC, by a goal to nil in the Week Nineteen fixtures of the Gambia Football Association (GFA) First Division League at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium on Wednesday 19th May 2010.
Fansu Simaka scored the only goal of the game for Bakau United in the 9th minute of the game to earn them a second victory in the second round of the league.
Timoty Colley of Bakau United was sent off in the 40th minute of the game after being shown a second bookable offence and finally sent off for a challenge on Wallidan FC Skipper George Cole.
Three minutes later, Bakau United were reduced to nine men when defender Musa Yaffa was also sent off after being shown a direct red card when first assistant referee Saul Touray called referee Maudo Jallow, to inform him about Musa Yaffa's unsporting behaviour against Pa Omar Nyan of Wallidan FC, thus the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Bakau United.
As action resumed in the second period of the game, Wallidan FC, who needed a victory to see them top the league came all out for a victory and created various scoring opportunities. But, Bakau United who are also struggling in the relegation zone defended very well to avoid an equaliser, thus the game ended 1-0 in favour of Bakau United.
Bakau United now collected 18 points from nineteen games, while Wallidan FC are still second position on the league table with 34 points in nineteen encounters, a point behind league leaders.
On the same day, the current league leaders Gambia Ports Authority also lost to struggling Seaview on the same score line at Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.
The Gambia Ports Authority are still on top of the league table with 35 points from eighteen games with a game in hand against Real De Banjul, while Seaview now collected 18 points from nineteen games.
