Ndofan FC will face Mbollet Ba FC in the final of the Ndofan Sports Committee organised nawetan competition sponsored by Seedy M. B. Kinteh, president of the Gambia Football Association (GFA).
The final between the two teams became a reality after they defeated their opponents in their semifinal encounters played at the weekend at the Biri-Biri Mini-stadium in Ndofan Village, Lower Niumi District, North Bank Region.
Ndofan made it to the final after defeating Jollof FC of
Mbollet Ba advanced to the final after beating Jokkor FC also of
Amadou Sarr scored the only goal of the game for Mbollet in the 52nd minute of the game from a sensible strike.
In the Under-15 category sponsored by Ngean Marong, a native of
Jokkor sailed to the final following their 4-2 victory over Mbollet on penalty kicks after drawing 1-1 in normal time of play.
Black Stars booked their place to the final after coming from a goal down to beat Barcelona of Ndofan Village by 2-1 in their semifinal game.
Barca took the lead through Wally Joof in the 41st minute of the game from a brilliant finish after capitalizing on Biram Surr’s cross.
Ousman Jobe levelled the score for Black Stars in the first minute of the second half after capitalizing on goalkeeper Alieu Jawo’s blunder.
Ablie Bah sealed the victory for Black Stars in the 74th minute of the game but was sent off after been shown a second bookable offence for taking off his shirt during celebrating his goal.
The date for the final was yet to be decided by the organizing committee as of press time.
