More scholarship opportunities attainable in Taiwan

The annual Mandarin Chinese Language Scholarship offered by the Taiwanese Ministry of Education, known as Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) is now open to Gambians.

A media dispatch issued by the Taiwanese embassy revealed that Gambians above the age of18 years are eligible to apply for the scholarship to learn official Chinese language for at least one year.

The number of scholarship for this particular scholarship is only one.

It further revealed that the scholarship is aimed, among others, to help recipients acquire a better command of Chinese, understand the Taiwanese culture, promote friendship between people of Taiwan and countries around the world.

The embassy release further revealed that successful applicant would receive a monthly stipend of about US$735, but stressed that he or she would be responsible for his or her own air fare.

It also maintained that a recipient of any other scholarship or subsidy offered by the Taiwan government or any other educational institution in Taiwan is not eligible.
