The students' association of Management Development Institute (MDI) has recently initiated a trust fund to assist needy and deserving students of the institute, aimed at supporting those who are financially bankrupt.
This was revealed to the Point by the new President of the MDI students' association, Mr. Abdoulie K. Manneh.
He further revealed that a trust fund committee was set up to look into the affairs of the trust fund so as to manage it for the betterment of the students.
Noting that some of the institute's senior lecturers are in the trust fund committee, he said the trust fund account was separated from his association's account for the sake of transparency.
Mr. Manneh said when he took over as new President he wasted no time in forming the trust fund. He disclosed that it's part of his agenda to organise inter-departmental debate and sports competitions, and to organise luncheon sale at the institute.
