Man jailed for stealing pedal bike

A man was recently convicted and sentenced to a mandatory jail term of six months with hard labour by the Kanifing Magistrates’ court, presided over by Magistrate Tabally.

Muhammed Bah, who pleaded guilty of the charge of stealing, was also given a suspended sentence of two years.

According to the charge sheet, on 11 January 2011, at Serekunda in the Kanifing Municipality, the convict, Muhammed Bah, stole a pedal bicycle valued at D800, the property of one Banila John.
