Man Jailed for Stealing Hens

One Demba Camara was on 29thDecember 2008 arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh for stealing five hens.

According to the facts of the case as narrated by the prosecuting officer 1269 Colley, it happened on 22ndDecember 2008 at JabangVillage. He revealed that while the complainant was inside his house he heard a noise outside and as he looked through the window he saw the convict putting the fowls inside a card box. He added that the complainant followed him, and the Accused was later apprehended and taken to the Alkalo's Compound. He narrated further that the convict was later taken to Yundum police Station where he was cautioned and charged with the offence committed.

On his own plea of guilty to the charge he was convicted and sentenced to three months imprisonment with hard labour.
