Man granted D200, 000 bail bond

A man accused of housebreaking and stealing was recently granted a bail bond of D200, 000 with two Gambian sureties each, who must deposit their ID cards.

Ousman Bah was arraigned before Magistrate Alagba of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with house breaking and stealing.

The charge sheet on count one stated that on 18 September 2011, at Latrikunda German, in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Ousman Bah, broke into the house of one Kahani Haugha with intent to commit a felony, that is to steal.

Count two read that on the same date and place, Bah stole the following: cash of D30, 800, a Moroccan passport, a Moroccan identity card, a Gambian residential permit, two Nokia Mobile phones, a bag containing GTB savings book, receipts and Western Union receipts, two passport size photos, two torch lights, one electrical bulb and floor mat, all being the property of the said Kahani Haugha.

The case continues on 12 September 2011.
