Man convicted for making fake document

One Sulayman Badjie was recently convicted and sentenced to a fine of D5, 000 in default to serve one year in prison by the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, presided over by Magistrate Abeke.

The police prosecutor, Sgt 413 Sanyang, adopted the facts of the case as per the charge sheet and tendered the passport and fake German visa.

The offence stated that on 18 July 2011, at the Banjul International Airport, the convicted person, Sulayman Badjie, presented a Gambian passport number PC 318259 containing a fake German visa number 44585953 to the profiling officer of Brussels Airline.
