Assault lands man in court

A man was recently arraigned before Magistrate Jallow of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.

Mustapha Tine denied the charge and was granted court bail of D5, 000, with a Gambian surety who must deposit an ID card.

The charge sheet read that, on 14 August 2011 at London Corner Serekunda in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Mustapha Tine, assaulted one Alhagie Nyassi on his hand by using a knife, thereby causing him actual bodily harm.

Hearing was set for continuation on 5 September 2011.
