Man Arraigned For Assaulting Police Officer

A man was recently arraigned before Magistrate Lamin George of the Bundung Magistrates' Court for allegedly assaulting a Police Officer.

Alhagie Jallow, a resident of Bakoteh, who is charged with assault causing actual bodily harm pleaded not guilty to the charge.

According to the charge sheet, on 16 November 2009, at Bakoteh, the accused Alhagie Jallow assaulted a Police Officer while executing his duties by stabbing him with a knife on his hand, and thereby causing him actual bodily harm.

Meanwhile, the accused was granted a court bail in the sum of D10, 000 with one Gambian surety.

The case was adjourned to 5th December 2009.
