A man called Mustapha Saine was yesterday arraigned before Magistrate Bojang of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with stealing.
He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D20,000 with a Gambian surety who must swear to an affidavit of means and deposit an ID card.
The charge sheet read that on 5 September 2014, at Serrekunda, in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Mustapha Saine, stole the following: soft tea valued at D175, village fresh soap valued at D250, three bottles of alcohol valued D1,450 and haserted battery valued at D75, being the property of Gateway Supermarket.
The case was adjourned till 24 September 2014.
In a separate development, one Peter Jarju was also yesterday arraigned before Magistrate Bojang of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with stealing.
The particulars of offence stated that the accused, Peter Jarju, on 26 August 2014 in Kotu, Kanifing Municipality, stole one pedal bicycle marked “Arro” valued at D2,000, belonging to one Ebrima Nyang.
He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D20,000 with a Gambian surety who must swear to an affidavit of means.
