Liverpool FC Donates Football Materials To Steve Biko

Billy Bygroves, on behalf of Liverpool Football Club in the English Premier League on Friday 13th November donated twenty full kits and extra football boots and shorts to Steve Biko Football Club in the GFA First Division League, at a presentation held at the Bakau-Mini-Stadium.

The gift, according to the donors, was facilitated by Adam Glyn, who is working with the Gambia Tourism Authority (GTA), in collaboration with the British couple, Nikki and Mike Cain who were born in Liverpool and have also been season ticket holders at Liverpool for 40-years.

Speaking to Pointsport shortly after the presentation, one of the facilitators Nikki told this reporter that the donation was part of the efforts of Liverpool Football Club in England, in their bid to help and support local community and churches in Bakau constituency of The Gambia.

According to the couple, they have a son by the name Adam Cain who is part of the Liverpool Academy and is currently doing Sports Degree at the Liverpool Hope University after undergoing another trial in the English Premier League side Bolton Wanderers before proceeding to Liverpool Hope University.

The Head Coach of Steve Biko FC, Abdoulie Bojang, on behalf of the entire management and staff of the Bakau Giants thanked the donors for what he described as their valuable support towards the development of Steve Biko Football Club.

The former Steve Biko midfield maestro who also played for The Gambia’s senior national team during his playing days assured the Liverpool Football Club that the kits would go a very long way in trying to improve the standards of the club that finished second in the GFA Division One League Championship last season. 

Abdoulie further assured the donors that the materials would be put to good use and promised to make the best use of the donated items for the betterment of the Club.
