The keenly contested final was witnessed by newly-elected GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo and members of his executive bureau.
Mendy Jatta gave Luneburg the lead in the 12th minute of the game, but his effort was cancelled by Sheriff Hydara for Linguere FC in the 78th minute. Thus the encounter ended 1-1 and proceeded to penalty kicks, which ended 2-1 in favour of Linguere FC.
As winner, Linguere FC went home with a giant trophy and cash of D12, 000 while the runners-up received a consolation prize of D8, 000.
Omar Bah, head coach Luneburg FC, claimed that one of his players was fouled prior to the goal they conceded.
The rain also had an impact on their game, he said, but was quick to add that despite losing they are equal to the winner.
Abdoulie Jawara, Linguere FC head coach, said the final was well organised and his side deserved to win.
