The crown was presented to Linder Salim Joof by Miss Haddy Jobe, a presenter at Jannehkoto FM, a community radio station based in Gunjur.The presentation ceremony attracted audience from Gunjur and its environs.
Miss Sirreh K. Janneh, presenter of Children Dream Corner at the FM, said the initial plan was to make the crown presentation “absolutely massive” but because of the death of the son of the sister of the proprietor of the radio station, the event was held low-key.
The divisional promoter, Brikama Administrative Area, who also doubles as the presenter of the famous Sabarela programme and Old time, MC Joj, apologised for the delay of the presentation of the crown saying it was due to some eventualities beyond their controlled.
For her part, the newly-crowned Face of Jannehkoto, Linder Salim Joof, hailed her mother and her fans for their support during the contest.
She received the crown and a sum of D5,000 as the winner for the 2016 Face of Jannehkoto, while the first runner-up, Aramatta Jabang, received D4,000.
Isatou Ceesay alias Balo received D2,000 as the second runner-up.The remaining five contestants each received D1,000 as consolation prize for their participation in the annual contest.
