A weeklong training for twenty senior staff of the National Record Office on Leadership and Information Communication Technology, ICT, is currently underway at the Management Development Institute (MDI) in Kanifing.

The training, which was funded by the Personal Management Officer (PMO), was conducted by the MDI.

It was meant to further equip the participants with requisite skills to enable them better deliver in their different sectors.

Speaking to the participants, Alieu K. Jarjue, the deputy Director General of MDI, said the duty and responsibility of an employer is to give employee training to the staff.

While noting that in this rapidly changing world and globalized it is imperative for all countries to develop adequate human resource capacity, by not only delivering services for their citizens but to compete as equals in the League of Nations, he said, it is also the duty and responsibility of employees to deliver as expected of them.

Poverty and underdevelopment are structural rather than natural conditions revise, through the development of strong resource base, that’s why MDI is not concreting more on the core civil service, but everybody’s input is paramount,” he emphasised

He reminded the senior staff of the National Record Office that this year’s training start with the national record office, as according to him, without their help nothing would work.

He finally urged them to take capacity-building opportunity as their top priority, noting that the doors of MDI are open to everybody.
