A
landmine explosion, which took place 200 meters from a village called Fass
Chabai in the Foni Jarrol district, has claimed the lives of Jonkong Sanneh and
his two children - Yahya and Sheikh Omar Sanneh.
Jonkong
Sanneh, who is believed to be in his late 50s, and his two children who are
residents of Foni Wassadou, went to fetch firewood in the early hours of
Thursday morning around 8:30 a.m. when the incident happened.
Lamin
Faye, a nurse at Kalagi Health Centre, confirmed to The Point newspaper that
the bodies had already been transported to Bwiam Hospital for medical
examination, before they would be returned to the village of Foni Wassadou for
proper burial.
