Lamin
on Sunday beat Sanyang 1-0 in a well-attended final game played at the Brikama
Box Bar Mini Stadium to clinch Sanneh Mentereng fitness football tournament
meant to raise funds for Brikama United’s participation in the 2017 CAF
Confederations Cup.
Lamin
beat the host Brikama in the semifinal to advance to the final. Sanyang
defeated Gunjur in the semifinal to progress to the final prior to their
Sunday’s final contest.
Lamin
got hold of the trophy after notching in a single goal in the final game meant to
generate funds for Brikama United’s participation in the continent second tier
football clubs competition.
Sanyang
reacted for an equalizer but were unable to break through Lamin’s formidable
defence line, thus the game ended 1-0 in favour of Lamin.
The
tournament was organised by Brikama Sports Committee in collaboration with
teams’ representatives to raise funds for Brikama United’s participation in the
2017 CAF Confederations Cup.
Brikama
United beat rivals Bombada in the final played at the Independence Stadium in
Bakau to lift the 2015-2016 Gambia Football Federation FF Cup title, courtesy
