Kombo Central inter-community tourney commences

The annual Kombo Central inter-community football tournament sponsored by the Kombo Central District Sports Committee Saamang Federation, kick-started at the weekend at the Brikama Box Bar Mini-stadium.

The tournament commenced at West Coast Region’s biggest football arena in a thrilling encounter as last year’s runners-up Kabafita beat Dasilameh FC 2-1 in the opening game witnessed by a large crowd of people from Brikama and its satellite areas.

Kabafita opened the score through striker Fabakary Daffeh in the 11th minute of the game from a brilliant strike to give his side the lead and moments later Kabafita found themselves 2-0 up when substitute Alagie Taal netted the second goal in the 58th minute of the game after slashing through Dasilameh FC’s defence line to extend his side’s lead.

Dasilameh FC fought back and pulled a goal through substitute Lamin Sambou in the 63rd minute of the game but that eventually proved to be a consolation for Dasilameh.
