Kexx United, Young Africans, Brufut United and Waa Banjul are all hoping to bounce back in the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation second division after losing their previous fixtures prior to the Christmas and New Year’s break.

Kexx United are hopeful to recover  in the second tier when they host Interior in the week-seven fixtures today, Thursday 5 January 2017, at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium, after losing to Wallidan 1-0 in the week-six fixtures before  Christmas and New Year’s break to keep their chances of gaining promotion to the top flight next season.

Interior will strive to beat Kexx United to close gap on teams above them in the second tier and also increase their chances of regaining promotion to the first division next season following their demotion to the second tier two seasons ago after their woeful campaign in the top flight.

Red Hawks will take on Young Africans in the all-Banjul derby fixtures at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai; Red Hawks are currently leading the second tier after winning four, drawing one and losing one.

The Young Red Devils will endeavour to rout Young Africans to revive their lead and also maintain their superb run of form in the second tier to improve their first division promotion hopes ambitions alive.

Young Africans will be steering to humble Red Hawks to recover after losing two games consecutively against Wallidan 4-0 and Serrekunda East Bi 1-0 in their previous fixtures before Christmas and New Year’s break.

Elsewhere, Waa Banjul will welcome Brufut United at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.

Waa Banjul will gear up their muscles to beat Brufut United and bounce back in the second tier after losing to Interior 1-0 in their last fixtures before Christmas and New Year’s break.

Brufut United, on the other hand, will also fight to thrash Waa Banjul to recover in the second tier after losing to Fortune FC 1-0 and BK Milan 3-1 prior to the Christmas and New Year’s break, to improve their hopes of gaining promotion to the top flight next season after missing first division promotion berth to Tallinding United last season.
