Jewelry box thief convicted

One Abdoulie Njie was recently convicted and sentenced by Magistrate Colley of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, to a fine of D2,000 in default to serve two months in prison.

This was after he pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing a jewelry box.

The charge sheet read that on 1 May 2015, at Kololi in the Kanifing Municipality, he stole a jewelry box (content unknown) valued at five hundred dalasi, the property of one Amie Drammeh, and thereby committed an offence.
