The
Japanese Embassy in Senegal through its government yesterday donated sports
equipment to the Independence Stadium, Serrekunda East, and Marina
International School.
The
donated items included handball posts, nets, basketball posts, nets, field
items and other sports necessities.
Receiving
the donated items, Alhagie Dodou Capi Joof, the president of The Gambia
National Olympic Committee, lauded the Japanese government and the Japanese
Olympic Committee for donating the materials to The Gambia.
Abdoulie
Jallow, Secretary General of GNOC, said the Japanese government had been
supporting The Gambia in the recent years.
Jallow
thanked the Japanese government and Japan Olympic Committee for providing The
Gambia with the sports items.
