Jambanjelly United have snatched their first victory in the 2014 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) third division triangular qualifiers following their 2-1 win over Blue Star in a well-contested game played at the FIFA Goal Project in Old Yundum on Sunday.

Jambanjelly United opened the scoring through Ebrima Jammeh in the 9th minute of the game from a brilliant free header to give Jam City boys the lead, before Blue Star levelled it through Zaid Faal in the 33rd minute to cancel out Ebrima Jammeh’s opener.

Bakary Jatta grabbed the winner for Jambanjelly United in the 81st minute of the game to earn Jam City boys their first-ever win in the triangular qualifiers.

Blue Star finished the game with ten men after Lamin Demba was sent off in the 83rd minute of the game after receiving the second yellow card.

Jambanjelly United are on the driver’s seat in the GFF third division triangular qualifiers with 4 points in two games and are so far unbeaten in the campaign.

They are determined to win their remaining two games to regain promotion to the second tier.

Blue Star are sleeping at the bottom of the third division triangular qualifiers with zero point in one game but are expecting to bounce back in their next games to keep their hopes of gaining promotion to the second division.
