Investment international staff charged

An employee of Investment International Gambia Limited, Omar Darboe, was recently arraigned before Principal Magistrate Abeke of the Brikama Magistrates' Court, charged with stealing by clerk or servant.

According to the charge sheet, between January 2010 and January 2011, in the West Coast Region, the accused, Omar Darboe, being employed as a cashier, stole D605,115.60, the property of Investment International Gambia Limited.

Meanwhile, the accused, Omar Darboe, who pleaded not guilty of the charge, was granted bail of D1 million with two Gambian sureties, who must swear to an affidavit of means and deposit their valid ID cards.

The case was adjourned until 16 March 2011.
