The vice President of the International Weightlifting Federation, Dragomir Cioroslan has expressed his institution's readiness to work with the Gambia and support its determined youths engage in weightlifting.
'He said, "the International Weightlifting Federation will work with the Gambia chapter to ensure that they are given the needed assistance ranging from equipment and training".
Mr Cioroslan who was in Banjul to attend the just concluded African Forum on Softball also pointed out that they are working on a plan to create a platform whereby Gambian weightlifters will also have the opportunity to participate at international competitions.
The President of the Gambia Weightlifting, Powerlifting and bodybuilding Association, can write to us stating their constraints and we can assist when it is needed most. Though it is a young association, but they have a great future ahead of them and can count on our support," he concluded.
