The North Bank Region is gearing up for their second edition of Region May Day sports billed for Saturday 9th may 2009 at the Kerewan Upper Basic school ground.
Thirteen institutions namely GPA, Gamtel, Interior among others line up for the event meant to cement and promote a smooth relationship among the working class.
Participants will compete in athletics, greasy pole, musical chair, walk race for senior managers, lime on spoon and three legged race for female participants.
According to Babun Fatty, regional sports Coo-dinator for NBR, as part of the May Day sports, the overall winner and winners of the greasy pole and musical chair will be awarded prizes.
In order to achieve their goal, Fatty stressed the need for companies to render their support and assistance as the event has so far not yet attracted sponsors.
"The event will commence with a march pass from the governors office to the regional education office where speeches will be delivered by invited guests" he explained.
