Interior FC on Wednesday defeated Jambangjelly FC 2-1 in the final first round matches of the 2008-09 GFA Second Division League taking place at the Brikama Mini Stadium.
The tightly contested game saw both sides creating scoring opportunity in each other's half in the first 20 minutes of the game.
Interior FC opened the scores in the 15th minutes of the game through striker Seedy Saidy after dribbling pass through and moments later Interior FC found themselves 2-0 ahead when Malamin Senghore netted their second goal in the 19th minute, dashing Jambangjelly's FC hope of coming back to their feet.
Jamcity fought back and managed to pull back one in the 84th minute by midfielder Sam Gibba and the game ended 2-1in favour of Interior FC.
Interior FC is now third on the table with 16 points from eight games, with a game in hand.
In the other week nine games, league leader Serrekunda East who has already bagged 19 points drew 0-0 with Nema United at Serrekunda Mini Stadium. Nema Nema United now have 12 points from nine games forth in the standings.
Lamin FC also drew 1-1 with Young Africans at Manjai Field; Lamin FC are now 8th position in the standing with 10 points from 9 games, while Young Africans are 5th in the standings with 11 from nine games.
