Assistant Superintendent of Immigration Famara Fadera has been appointed public relations officer of the Immigration Department, with effect from 4 August 2015.
ASI Fadera replaced Inspector Mariama Colley who is now the assistant PRO, a statement from the Gambia Immigration Department (GID) said.
PRO Fadera was the officer commanding the administration unit of the immigration department up to the time of his latest appointment on 4 August.
He has served as the personal assistant to the Regional Immigration Commissioner of North Bank Region.
Fadera, a former teacher, joined the GID in 2006. Their GID batch is known as the ‘AU batch’, for their year of enlistment was the year The Gambia hosted the AU Summit.
He is currently enrolled at the University of The Gambia pursuing a BSc in Public Administration.
The PRO obtained a Higher Teacher’s Certificate from the Gambia College, with a major in English and Agriculture.
