The Red devils Hawks has suffered yet another upset in the 2009-10 Gambia Football Association (GFA) Premier League, following their 2-0 thumping in the hands of the Academy boys Samger in the Week Fourteen fixtures last Sunday at the Brikama Mini-stadium.
The opening minutes of the game was totally dominated and controlled by Hawks, who created numerous goal scoring opportunities but squandered all their limited scoring opportunities away.
Samger, who were defending and relied on counter-attacks opened the tally in the 39th minute of the game through Lamin Sarjo Samateh after dribbling Hawks defenders to make it 1-0 for the Academy boys Samger.
Hawks fought hard for an equaliser but could not break the deadlock, and thus the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Samger.
As actions resumed in the second half, Hawks who lies second from bottom came all out and mounted heavy pressures on Samger defence line, but were unable to contain them, while Ousman Jallow sealed the victory in the 49th minute of the game after slashing through Hawks defence line to make it 2-0 Samger.
Hawks again fought back in the dying minute but all their strikers were unable to contain Samger defence line, and thus the game ended 2-0 in favour of Samger.
Samger now collected 22 points from fourteen games, while Hawks got only 11 points from fourteen games.
The league leaders GPA drew 0-0 with the defending champions Armed Forces at Serrekunda East Mini-stadium; GPA now collected 31 points from fourteen games, while Armed Forces got 17 points from fourteen.
Elsewhere, telecommunication boys Gamtel also drew 0-0 with Hotel boys Seaview at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.
Gamtel collected 21 points from fourteen games, while Seaview got t 10 points from fourteen games.
