Gunjur Youth and Sports Development Association (GYSDA) on 15 September 2013 donated a trophy and one ball to Nyofelleh Sports Committee.
The donation was part of GYSDA’s contribution towards the development of sport in Nyofelleh, especially football.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field, the treasurer of Nyofelleh Sports Committee, Amadou Sowe, applauded GYSDA for the gesture, adding that GYSDA has been supportive of Nyofelleh Sports Committee in previous years.
Sowe added that his committee had written a letter to Brikama Youth and Sports Association (BYSA) for support but they did not receive response from them, noting that GYSDA’s support towards Nyofelleh Sports Committee “is absolutely wonderful”.
For his part, GYSDA’s first vice president Lamin Darboe, alias Darboe C, said Gunjur and Nyofelleh are one, adding that GYSDA executive members are glad to give helping hand to Nyofelleh Sports Committee in their quest to promote and develop sport in Nyofelleh and its satellite areas.
The presentation ceremony was witnessed by the first vice president of Gambia Football Federation, Buba Star Janneh, and GYSDA executive members.
