The ferry boys of GPA on Sunday moved on top of the 2008-09 GFA second division league, following their narrow 3-2 win over Nema United in the week seventeen of the ongoing second division league at the Brikama Mini Stadium.
Both sides put up a respectable game with GPA opening the scores in the 5th minute through striker Toni Mendy from a close range. Few minutes later, GPA found themselves 2-0 ahead in the 13th minute when Midfielder Saloum Faal netted the second goal from a goal mouth scramble.
Enema United made a strong come back and created chances in front of GPA goal mouth resulting in striker Alieu Jammeh pulling back one in the 44th minute of the game to leave the first half end 2-1 in favour of the ferry boys of GPA.
As the actions resumed, Nema United who are determined and more enterprising for victory levelled the scores in the 62 minute through striker Alieu Jammeh as he scored his second goal of the day. While Toni Mendy seal the victory for GPA in the 68-minute of the game as he scored his second goal in the game.
On the same day Interior drew 1-1 with Serrekunda East in the other week seventeen game at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
