GPA leave for Kinshasa prior to CAF champions league 2nd leg duel with AS Vita Club

The 2015-2016 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league champions Gambia Ports Authority are set to leave Banjul today, Tuesday 14 March 2017, for Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo prior to their 2017 CAF Champions league second round second leg clash with AS Vita Club this weekend.

The Gambian champions were held to a 1-1 draw by the Congolese side in the first-leg tie in Banjul on Sunday.

The host GPA opened the scores through winger Alagie Sarr in the 47th minute of the game before Francisco Ondo levelled the scores for the visitors AS Vita Club in the 75th minute to share the spoils.

Alagie Sarr, head coach of GPA, said the team will leave Banjul today for Kinshasa, for their crunch 2017 CAF Champions league second-leg clash with the Congolese sides this weekend.

Coach Sarr remain optimistic that his side can advance to the group stage of the 2017 CAF Champions league despite their 1-1 draw with AS Vita Club in the first leg in Banjul at the weekend.

Coach Sarr revealed that they would go back to the training ground and try to improve on their weakness ahead of the second leg in Kinshasa this weekend.

Gambia Ports Authority need a 2-2 draw or win in  the  second leg in Kinshasa this weekend to advance to the group stage after their 1-1 draw with AS Vita club in the first leg in Banjul at the weekend but a goalless will see them out and AS Vita club.
